The handler slowly attempted to pet Bruno, but when they got close, he flashed teeth, growled defensively, and snapped but did not make contact. The handler back tied Bruno and proceeded using the assessment hand for safety. The handler used a slow approach, but Bruno pulled away and snapped defensively at the hand. He continued to pull away, flail, and snap at the hand. The handler stopped the assessment to not further stress Bruno. He was given time to decompress and was returned to his kennel without incident.
